On January 25th, 30 year-old, Egyptian Activist, Wael Ghonim started an online revolution, sparking the first protests. Once this begun, Ghonim was detained by Egyptian authorities and HELD for 12 days. Upon his release, the movement only skyrocketed.

Now, the countless thank you’s and credit to Social Networking sites abound. Ghonim states, “If you want to liberate a government, give them the internet.” Below is the CNN footage of his thanks, with the uproar in Cairo. He even mentions that he would like to meet Mark Zuckerberg, Founder of Facebook, so that he may personally thank him.

So here’s one of the most AMAZING parts of this story… Because of Social Networking Sites, 18 days is all it took to convince a scandalous ruler to step down from his Presidency. This my friends… is the power of the internet.

If Wael Ghonim can start this revolution, which in-turn freed a country… with the internet at your fingertips, I ask, “What can YOU do?” If Social Media can free Egypt… IMAGINE the change WE can stir!

On Wednesday, December 29^th, 2010; I started on a different pathway completely outside of my comfort zone, a journey to accomplish one of my greatest desires and what I know to be my calling in life, becoming a Life Coach, a light and help to others. The last 5 weeks of sessions with John Ramsey, have truly inspired me, it has reinforced a deeper connection with my spirituality, and has confirmed a renewed confidence in who I am, what I have to offer the world and the power within me.

John’s wisdom and intellectual manner in which he led the coaching sessions demonstrated how successful and systematical Katapult’s program works. It brought to surface the best of me that I knew was already within, this has been a confirmation of what I always knew I was capable of, yet never took the risk to progress into it until now.

Through out my life, I have strongly believed in accomplishing those things that you’ve always desired and dreamed of doing, I’m grateful and proud of two said desires; becoming a Human Resources Professional, I’ve been in the field for 20 years and accomplishing a Radio & Television broadcasting certification. Now, to add a Life Coaching certification to my list of accomplishments is HUGE because I know this is what the finished product is supposed to look like…I’m glad I have John Ramsey and the Katapult team supporting and encouraging me as I take on this enormous responsibility and rewarding journey.

I’m seeing life, people and my surroundings through a new pair of eyes, a new glass sort of speak, it’s amazing how sensitive my senses have become through this process. John Ramsey taught me how to channel deeper into my intuitive side, how to fully engage into it in every aspect to become excellent and successful as a life coach. Most importantly, building relationships with the people I impart to.

The Katapult coaching program is dynamic, the positive energy, reinforcement, the laws of attraction working in my favor…all visible signs that have made friends and family members take notice. Many of times, those same people can talk you out of your own life plans. I’m glad I only shared this with three people whom I knew no matter what negative force came my way to try to stop me, they would be by my side every step of the way; to them I will be forever grateful; God, John Ramsey and ZoeLena Shuster aka the Katapult team. I will miss these sessions they have enlightened me and brought out a more fulfilled being in me.  

Now, I embark into taking these wonderful life lessons out to those that will entrust me with assisting them in finding true happiness and living more fulfilled productive lives…is it a bit intimidating?  Yes, I won’t deny it, but I believe that’s a good place to start and grow and build upward from that will always be a reflection of these 6 great life coaching sessions that I will not take for granted.

John Ramsey, I’ll keep saying this…I will be forever grateful, thank you for coming into my life, I know it was planned; you’re a true friend and mentor. To ZoeLena Shuster for such brilliance in creating an innovative well structure program with proven results and the entire Katapult Team for your support and encouragement!

What does it take for YOU to ask for what YOU are worth?

Throughout these last few years working with clients and even in my own friend circle, I have noticed a connection between Self-Love and our ability to ask for what we are worth.

Identifying our own value is sometimes an opportunity we don’t give ourselves and that is why I am inspired to write this piece. I am also going to invite YOU to be an active participant in your life and go ahead and grab a piece of paper and a pen. There is no better time then the present to take inspired action.

Once YOU have the paper in hand.. go ahead and write down 10 things YOU LOVE About Yourself. If you have trouble getting started, think about the things others often ‘recognize’ you for or things you often get complimented for. Think about all the things that come easy to you. Even mentally note the ‘challenges’ that YOU are experiencing in this very moment as YOU take the precious moments to honor yourself. Does it feel foreign to YOU to stop and appreciate yourself? If so, have YOU ever wondered why?

Well, in our society there are often norms or beliefs that reinforce our mindset that says it is not okay to boast, or that it is better to be humble. The thing is that if YOU don’t know what YOU love about yourself, how will YOU ever be able to explore the possibility of doing and living what YOU love?

My intent with this exercise is to create a ‘norm’ in your life where YOU truly honor and love yourself because there are many precious gifts YOU give to the world everyday. Believe YOU me.. I know that those who are attracted to reading this are truly special and that each of YOU are waking up to your Divine Gifts and that there is no accident that YOU are inviting yourself to be a part of this dialogue of Self-Love!!

Okay.. so back to the exercise. Once you are complete with the first 10 attributes, look at this list and put a (*) next to the ones that classify as ‘innate talents’ of yours. Now, take the ones you have (*) next to and put them in a separate column.  As YOU review the list, what themes are there? </strong><strong>What do YOU notice? How does it feel?

<strong></strong>Part of my purpose and natural talent is my ability to ‘SEE the BEST’ in others. Many who have worked with me either as my clients, my business partners or my team members will tell YOU that I have this innate knowing who YOU really are and create that space for YOU to step into it. Seeing people have those aha-moments and finally realize how incredibly they gifted they really are and LOVE their life more is what inspires me.

PAPER ADVERTISING HAS GONE DOWN THE TOILET! ALL major corporations are INCREASING the finances they spend on online advertising!

“Why?” you ask. Let me make a few points here:

Numero Uno: When someone is looking for a service, they don’t turn to a phone book like they did in 1982… they Google it! Now… what happens when someone has NOTHING as far as online presence? Well, exactly that. A whole lot of NOTHING. And then that potential customer goes to another company who directed part of their advertising budget to the crucial place of the internet.

Numero Dos: (DON’T tell me you’ve never done this!) Let’s say someone you meet hands you a business card. NOW let’s say (just for the sake of argument) that you’re somewhat interested in this person whether personally, businesswise or… maybe you just have a somewhat nosy nature. Well, on this business card is a website. (I promise I’m going somewhere with this…) You get home; check your email, Facebook, Twitter, etc… THEN you type the website into your browser. Only after you notice what good or poor quality this website is, a “Follow us/me on Twitter” catches your eye. You click on the link… and what is the VERY FIRST THING you look at? Why the FOLLOWERS! Now, let’s say this person/company has 5,000+ followers. You leave the Twitter page thinking you might just have made a decent connection. On the other hand, let’s say this person/business has 17 followers… DISqualified! You see what I’m saying here?

Numero Tres: You’ve probably had one of these experiences:
You have a few friends, associates, family members or whoever with you for whatever reason and either, a.) Your iPod goes dead so you turn to the dusty CD case, flip through and make your selection. As you’re sliding the CD into the player, someone comes over to you and says in a patronizing tone, “That is SO 1990’s…” OR, b.)  You need some guidance for a project. Your laptop/computer is on the other side of the house but your tried and true copy of “_________ for Dummies” is right there on the shelf. You grab it, sit down in your favorite chair, and flip it open. Just as you think you might be catching on, someone walks by and says to you, “WHAT are you doing? Why don’t you just Google it?”
There are two points I am trying to make with this example: a.) Numerous industries are steadily losing usage of products, therefore losing profit due to the internet. CDs are “1990’s” because nobody uses them anymore. They download music onto their iPods from the web. Instructional books… yeah… no one uses those either; and b.) the internet plays a huge role in all of our lives whether you want to admit it or not, the only difference is how you utilize it.  

Okay… now for fun facts. (Well fun for me anyway).

In 2011, online advertising is anticipated to be $25.8 billion versus $22.8 billion for newspapers. You don’t have to be a mathematician to figure it out. That’s a 3 BILLION dollar difference!

Looking at the graph below, you can see for yourself the decline of spending on newspaper advertising and the rise of online ads since 2004.

                            Impressive, huh?
